It is with a heavy heart that I write this email to you=2E
Brother Ruth Hancock, much-beloved Advisor to the Pi Omicron Chapter at
Emory and Henry College passed away in her sleep early this morning=2E
Ruth had served for many years as a loved and trusted Advisor to Pi
Omicron, and also served as Section 82 Treasurer until the section split,
where she then stayed on staff as Section 81 Treasurer, a position she hel=
d
until just this spring when she stepped down=2E
Ruth has been recognized many times for her work with Pi Omicron, and in
2002, received the Section 81 DSK for her many years of dedication to staf=
f=2E
Her health had not been the best recently, but worked with her doctors to
be able to attend the 2002 National Convention in New Orleans=2E I cannot=
remember a convention where there wasn't the wonderful presence of Ruth an=
d
her husband, Brother Ray Hancock - himself a founder of Zeta Beta Chapter
and founder of Pi Omicron=2E
I know Ruth has touched many lives throughout her years in APO, mine
included=2E Details on the service, etc, will be forthcoming=2E
Please keep Brother Ray Hancock, the entire Hancock family, and the Pi
Omicron of Alpha Phi Omega family in your thoughts and prayers=2E
