[APO-L] APO-Phil story?

A fellow Alumnus and I were trying to come up with the details of a story
that we were told (at the 1990 convention is St. Louis?). Apparently a
group of Philippine government soldiers and a group of rebels (Marxist,
Muslim, we aren't sure) but because the leader of the gov't troops and the
leader of the rebels were both Alpha Phi Omega brothers they decided not
to fight and each kept on going...
Does this ring any bells for anyone?
