Hi Michael,

FYI, the National Leadership Development Committee is looking to have =
one of this summer's Leadership Institutes in the Philadelphia area. I =
sent the National Office the contacts at a number of schools in the =
Philadelphia area (including UDel), and the National Office called =
around to each of the school administrations, and it appears as though =
UDel is best suited to host the activities (even though it's not exactly =
in Philly :-) ). At this point, nothings been finalized, the National =
Office is negotiating with the school, regarding dates, rooms, dorms, =
costs, et al. But we'll let you know when everything is set. =20

So you are aware, the Leadership Institute is a weekend-long event where =
a number of the different Leadership Development Programs are offered, =
at the same time, and in the same place. Among those workshops to be =
offered include, the Chapter Program Workshop (CPW), and the new LEADS =
workshops that was much talked about at Convention: Launch, Explore and =
Achieve. The National Office is responsible for making the =
arrangements, and the Leadership Development Committee will be =
responsible for recruiting volunteers to coordinate and staff the =
various activities. So, at this point, there's no need for you to do =
anything, yet, which is why you're finding out about this now. At some =
point, there may be a need for local Brothers to assist, most likely =
with logistical issues, such as where food is available, how the rooms =
are laid out, where the rooms are in relation to the dorms that people =
will be staying in, etc., but we wouldn't be asking the chapter to host =
it. If and when the time comes where we'll need the chapter's help, =
we'll let the chapter know. In the meantime, I would highly recommend =
attending, as it would be a great opportunity for you and your Brothers =
to get a feel for what APO is like outside of UDel (I know that you got =
that in New Orleans, but you're the only one in your chapter that has =
had that opportunity), and for you all to further develop your =
leadership abilities.

I thank you for offering your chapter to help, and we may take you up on =
that at some point between now and the end of the semester, but we're =
not there yet. When we are, we'll let you know. When things are set, =
you'll know, and we'll get information out to you so that you and your =
Brothers what kind of fun and opportunities are coming into your back =
yard! =20

Glad to hear that you've got at least 4 pledges. Hopefully, you'll be =
able to keep growing and getting Zeta Sigma back to being a strong =
chapter again. Hope all else is well with you.

Fraternally,
Craig Muckle
Region II Director

Could you send me more info on the prob. U of Delaware CPW & LI? =
Perhaps the chapter could actually host it. I am a member there & live =
about 20 minutes away; this is the opportunity for me to get my APO =
undergrad training (or is there more?). Why do you think probably at =
the University of Delaware? There has been no mention of it by staff to =
the chapter that has trickled to me, and we are an "endangered" chapter. =
We now have 5 members and at least 4 pledges. Three members are =
graduating this semester. That summer we should have at least 6 =
Brothers.

  Thank you,

I am resending this message because my e-mail was acting up, sorry =

    receive it twice.

    Brothers

The tentative schedule for the summer leadership institutes has =
been=20
announced. The dates and locations are as follows:

[KEY: LI =3D Leadership Institute; CPW =3D Chapter Program =
Workshop)

      1. June 20-22 LI & Staff Training at University of Dallas
      2. June 25-29 CPW & LI in Chicago TBA
      3. July 18-20 CPW & LI in Philly area - Probably Univ. of =
Delaware
      4. July 25-27 CPW (&LI?) in Atlanta - Ogelthorpe University
      5. July 25-27 CPW in St. Louis - University of Missouri, SL
      6. August 15-17 CPW & LI in San Francisco Bay Area - TBA

Leadership Institutes will have the various APO Leads programs =
(Launch,=20
    Achieve, and Explore)

This is likely the last summer that you will be able to attend a =
CPW. As=20
the CPW will be phased out as Discover and Serve (of the APO Leads =
program)=20
    come on line.

I will pass along more information as it becomes available to me.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
