Brothers,

It is my great honor to congratulate the chapters receiving 2003 Alpha Phi Omega Youth Service Grants. A committee of APO National Board members, led by past Board Member mrn Tomusiak, evaluated the applications sent in by chapters. Many thanks to all chapters who applied for the grant and to the YSG Review Committee.

Chapters and their projects/awards are:

-Beta Zeta/University of Georgia: Building Benches/Building Character, $325.

-Alpha Gamma Rho/Florida Institute of Technology: House of Hope Renovation/Master's Workshop, $500.

-Delta Alpha/University of Cincinnati: Big Brothers/Big Sisters Sports Buddies project, $400.

-Alpha Sigma/University of Nebraska (Lincoln): Crazy Carnival, $500.

-Epsilon Gamma/Alfred University: Craft Boxes for Children in Foster Care, $250.

-Epsilon Zeta/Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute: Girl Scout Badge Day, $450.

-Kappa Phi/Saint Lawrence University: APO Scout Sports and Game Day, $500.

-Nu Sigma/Stephen F. Austin State University: Youth Fair, $500.
-Eta Sigma/Illinois College: Kiddy Karnival, $450.

-Delta Beta/University of Oklahoma: Children's Theater Project, $300.

-Omicron Phi/University of Richmond: Teeter for Tots, $300.

We were unable to fund all proposals but were pleased with the variety and quality of the projects presented.

The Youth Service Grant program provides grants to chapters doing projects that benefit pre-college age youth. It is funded by a generous donation from Brother John Jadel. You can learn more about it at: www.apo.org/programs/service/youth_service_grants/index.shtml

If you received a grant this time or not, make sure to do (and report on!) a project benefiting youth as part of APO's Spring Service Day: April 11-13, 2003, or any weekend in April that works for your chapter. Find the details (also mailed to your chapter) at: www.apo.org/programs/service/national_spring_service_day/index.shtml

Keep up the wonderful service, APO!

Warmest Regards,
Carla Moran
