[APO-L] Purpose through the years...

I've recently been looking for the official purpose of the fraternity at
various times in its history. What I find fascinating is that the official
purpose changed much more during FRH's life and soon after (he passed away
in 1966) than it has changed since...
1926:
The purpose of the fraternity shall be to assemble those who have had
experience and training under the Scout Oath and Laws, to revive the
spirit of that Oath and Law, to develop friendship, to encourage service,
and to enable its members to become leaders of America's youth, through
character-building, citizenship, college spirit and manly strength.

1967: (result of con-con)
The purpose of this Fraternity shall be to assemble college men in a
National Service Fraternity in the fellowship of the principles of the Boy
Scouts of America as embodied in its Scout Oath and Law, to develop
Leadership, to promote Friendship and provide Service to humanity: and to
further the freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual
heritage.

1976(??) - The change from 1967 to this is "men" to "students". I presume
this was done around 1976...

1994(?) and after: (I don't think this changed at New Orleans)
(This is the change to "derived from". I believe this was done in Dallas,
but I don't remember.)

Unfortunately about a dozen of chapters continue to have the pre-1994
purpose on their web pages. :(
For APO-Philippines, The web page for their Regional Council IX says:
The purpose of this fraternity shall be to assemble college students in a
National Service Fraternity in the fellowship of the principles of Alpha
Phi Omega; to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship, and provide
Service to humanity; and to further the freedom that is our national,
educational, and intellectual heritage. The rich heritage of Alpha Phi
Omega is derived from the fellowship of the principles of the Boy Scouts
of The Philippines as embodied in its Scout Oath and Law.
