Here's some thing more for the grist mill. There are already some chapters that
have adopted the true-to version for singing in their chapters, for various
reasons. In Section 30 (Colorado & Wyoming), one chapter sings "True to" and
the other two sing "Men of". This causes no problems as all brothers respect
the wishes of the host chapter when visiting and all brothers sing the
nationally ratified "Men of" when at conferences. I think this graduated
approach may be the most ideal solution. All chapters have the opportunity to
pick the version most helpful to their particular campus and recruiting
environment, but when it's just us brothers at a conference or convention, we
sing "Men of" in alignment with our tradition, and if some folks accidentally or
intentionally sing it "True to", I don't see any need to have Toast Song Gestapo
working the room to insure compliance.
