"Fuzzy" was correct - this is something that depends on your e-mail
program. For instance, in my e-mail client at home, I highlight the text
that I want to quote in my reply, and only that text is included (see
above). When I use AOL's web-based e-mail service, it includes all of
the text of the original message, and I then delete everything except the
specific point(s) that I want to include.
This is really a matter of courtesy, and is greatly appreciated by those
who read the list in the digest format (as well as others).
On a related note, please refrain from sending mail to the list in HTML
format, even if your mailer includes both a text and an HTML version of
your message. Many people do NOT read their mail in a web browser or
HTML-capable e-mail client, and the HTML can also mess up the digest.
This has been the general policy of APO-L for some time, and should be a
setting that you can adjust in your e-mail client.
