Congratulations to the newest members of Alpha Phi Omega, the 25 petitioners
at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. Included in that group were the
first female members of APO at Johnson C. Smith
University.
A petitioning ceremony was held for these members Sunday, Nov. 3 by
the brothers of their co-big brother chapters Sigma Upsilon
(UNC-Charlotte) and Kappa Psi (N.C. A&T), as well as brothers from Phi Kappa
(UNC-Greensboro) and Kappa Theta (Wake Forest).
The Johnson C. Smith students first heard about APO in mid-September, and
since then has worked hard to become a part of APO and to bring the
fraternity back to campus, where the chapter, Delta Phi, has been inactive
since 1994.
