We have recently received questions regarding a pending investigation =
regarding violation of Fraternity rules and policies and how allegations =
of inappropriate behavior are handled. The National Board of Directors =
takes seriously its responsibility to protect our members and the =
Fraternity from harm. We have clear policies on how to address matters =
that arise.

Per our practice the Spirit and Standards Committee, chaired by the =
National Vice President, investigates allegations and makes =
recommendations for action. Often these recommendations call for local =
volunteers to monitor situations and make sure future activities are =
acceptable. Occasionally, the allegations are serious in nature and the =
Committee makes recommendations to the National Board of Directors for =
action. The Board reviews evidence and makes determinations based upon =
its obligations to do so and makes decisions that the Board Members =
choose to implement within their authority. This is taken in a serious =
deliberate manner.=20

We do not publicize investigations. This may harm individuals making =
allegations as well as those accused where the evidence is incorrect, =
insufficient or public actions are inappropriate.=20

In regard to the recent emails from an Alumni Member, the National Board =
of Directors has taken no action at this time. There are investigations =
under way, but no determination has been made as to the substance of the =
allegations and what, if any action should be taken. If the National =
Board of Directors takes action this will be published.
