These questions are strictly for the veteran Brothers and Know-it-Alls:
1) In the late 1960's, does any brother recall that Alpha Phi Omega
nationally participated in drives to promote Sesame Street? I came across
information that states "brothers of the fraternity visited day care centers
in the District [of Columbia] to distribute packets informing the centers of
the objectives of the TV program." The passage, in an old yearbook, went on
to say that the Brothers raised money to purchase televisions and adapters
for those needy daycare centers who wished to incorporate Sesame Street into
their activities.
I cannot determine from the information whether this was a single chapter's
activity, chapters in just DC, or a national initiative.
2) This same school, but a different year, uses the phrase "Foundation
Stone to Meaningful Life" to describe Alpha Phi Omega. Was this phrase used
in national Fraternity literature at the time, or could this be something
that chapter created?
3) Could my questions be any more random?
