Hey Alpha Phi Omega members:
Are you a leader in your chapter? Will you be an officer in the next school
year? If so, do you know what a CPW is? You should!
The Chapter Program Workshop is one of the best opportunities for you to
learn about and expand your leadership skills as they relate to APO and your
chapter. With CPWs scheduled around the country throughout this coming
summer, we hope you'll make plans now to take advantage of this national
program. Below is information about the CPWs, including dates, locations and
registration details online.
Please forgive the length of this posting. Although information about
Chapter Program Workshops is sent to every chapter via the National Chapter
Bulletin, this information is worth sharing with the widest audience
possible!

Chapter Program Workshops 2002
In a nutshell, a CPW is like no other APO experience you will ever have.
This is a unique opportunity to spend a weekend with a relatively small group
of APO members from a number of different chapters, near and far. All are
focused on one goal: becoming better leaders in our chapters.
Each CPW begins on Friday night and ends around noon on Sunday. In between,
you'll explore the elements that contribute to a healthy and successful
chapter: Planning, communications, recruiting, retention, brainstorming,
delegation, basic chapter operations, problem solving and more.
Every chapter has strengths and weaknesses, and a CPW is a chance for key
leaders to come together, share experiences and explore possibilities in
addressing the challenges that every chapter faces. What's more, you leave
the CPW with a personal action plan that you devise to take you into the next
year as a leader in your chapter.
The program is geared towards the needs of Presidents, VP of Service &
Membership, but other officers and chapter leaders can find it to be of great
benefit, too. Each CPW is staffed by experienced APO volunteers and national
leaders, providing the opportunity for you to get answers and new ideas from
those who have "been there, done that" and know the ropes.
You are encouraged to attend any CPW that is convenient to you. In fact,
going to a CPW outside of your region enhances the exchange of ideas and
information!
The price of attending is about as good as you can get -- $55.00 no matter
which CPW you attend. That price includes materials, two nights lodging and
four meals (three on Saturday, one on Sunday).The actual cost of holding each
CPW may be higher than $55 per person, but the Fraternity makes up the
difference -- because aiding in the growth your leadership abilities is that
important!

*June 21-23 College Station, TX
*June 28-30 Toledo, OH
*July 19-21 Fairfax, VA
*July 26-28 Kansas City, MO
*July 26-28 Atlanta, GA
*Aug 16-18 Los Angeles, CA
