Brothers,
Apparently, there has been a change in the eligibility policies to
receive a President's Student Service Award, but it was never published
or communicated to the program's partners.
To receive a President's Student Service Award, a person must have
performed 100 hours of service over a 12-month period and must be
enrolled full-time as a student. There is no age limit.
Before, the award was available to students age 25 and younger who
performed 100 hours of service over a 12-month period. This is no longer
the case and hopefully those non-traditional students who qualified
before will apply to receive an award.
I would also like to express my thanks and appreciation to Brother Laura
Doss of Region VI who asked about the age limit and asked for additional
information. Had she not asked the question, we would not have found
out about the unpublished rule change. Her action was definitely a
service to the Fraternity to help recognize some deserving brothers.
