Brethren,
I am new to this list and thrilled to be a part of any discussion about the
progress of our great and beloved fraternity. I've been inactive for about
ten years and the main reason was because of the so-called Gentlemens
agreement which I translate to mean "death sentence" to the fraternal
values that many hold dear. Reasonable men may differ on this and other
points but we all love Horton's vision and should be able to discuss
and/or "settle our disputes in a more reasonable manner than by war" (sound
familiar?). I've got nothing but fraternal love for my Brothers that have
another point of view. I think the several schools of thought represented
in the frat. are indicative of true diversity. NOT, forced, oppressive,
insensitive, unceasing, tyrannical, imperialistic, domination by one group
over another. Was it Oliver Wendell Holmes who referred to this as the
tyranny of the majority? My opinion probably won't be popular on this list
but the various shades of the ideological spectrum must be represented.
