Hi everyone! I just wanted to zap a little message off to y'all letting
you know how much I enjoyed the Section 84 Conference at American
University this past weekend! My journeys around region III are taking
me literally to all four corners of North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland,
& DC!
After enjoying an AWESOME two weeks with the Sigma Rho Chapter at Elon
University (North Carolina), I went up to DC with them. I'm now visiting
with the Epsilon Mu Chapter at the University of Maryland - College
Park, so I'm sure my stay here will be very exciting (I do wish it was
basketball season, though). Maybe I'll get a chance to get my photo
taken with the head coach and a few players from the national champions
of the NCAA! :-)
Anyway, here's a few things that happened at the Section 84 Conference,
in case you missed it:
YES HENRY CUT HIS HAIR!
That's right - there were 175 registrants at the Section 84 Conference.
EXACTLY 175, and the 175th registrant was Jose, an Active from ZM at
Catholic University. Jose had the honor of cutting the ponytail.
Congratulations to Malcolm Lee in being elected to serve at the new
Section 84 Chair.
Congratulations to the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Chapter (my first host
chapter, btw - congrats - I'll see you next spring!) in winning the bid
to host the 2003 Section 84 conference.
Congratulations to Henry Marx on being awarded a Section 84 DSK, as well
as getting a sectional award named after him for the Most Improved
Chapter. He got a
hodgepodge of other awards/thank yous for his work in Section 84, too.
Way to go, Henry!
Congratulations to Matt Winkler on being awarded a Corning Chapter
Reviver Award for his work with Theta Chi/GWU.
Congratulations go out to EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER/EXTENSION/REVIVAL EFFORT
in Section 84 on attending the Section 84 Conference! Yes, every single
group of APO in the Section was present at the Sectional Conference this
year!
And of course, congratulations go out to the Eta Phi Chapter at American
University on hosting a most awesome conference this weekend! Way to go!
Well, that's all for now! I look forward to my stay here at Epsilon Mu
in College Park, not to mention my next big venture - visiting the
Region III CPW & Leadership Institute at George Mason University, July
19-21! I hope everyone comes out that weekend to help me celebrate my
FIRST BIRTHDAY (maybe Jamie will bake me a cake; and I'll get a chance
to meet Wilfred Krenek on my first birthday?!).
