I kept most of my response to Brother Jim's letter private.
For public, I would ask this:
1. Jim, what statement would you make that's within our bounds to make?
2. Theatre aside, what do you hope to accomplish?

A final consideration, would people please stop speaking for the founders or
others? The vast majority are dead. Their flame and their spirit is alive.
We have to carry that. All of the people who have given us these dreams
and our beloved fraternity left it so that people with able minds can not
look to them for guidance, but rather so that we can lead and make decisions
for ourselves. The greatest test of a leader is that those beneath him
shine of their own accord.
