Actually, if the Girl Scouts would agree to it, I think there would be very
little difficulty getting the National Convention to approve the necessary
legislation. APO has tried and is still trying to establish a formal
relationship with the Girl Scouts at the national level. There's a lot of
history involved in these attempts, but the ultimately the bottom line is,
the Girl Scouts are not interested in having a formal, national relationship
with APO.
This doesn't mean that APO isn't still trying. I know there is an effort
going on right now by someone on the National Scouting & Youth Services
committee to collect data about chapters working with Girl Scouts right now
to use in an attempt to show the GSUSA that they'd benefit from a closer
relationship with us.
