I've been asked to post on the fact that the National Office now has the
capability for by-law ammendments to be submitted via the web!

The way to do this is to go to www.apo.org and click on "Submit
Legislation" (Right now its in red). That takes you to
www.apo.org/2000/legislation.htm . This shows the format that by-law
ammendments should be submitted it. Down at the bottom is a link to
actually submit the ammendment online. This takes you to
http://www.apo.org/2000/proposed_ammendment.htm and includes text fields
for all fields in the format.

The format is as follows:

DOCUMENT TITLE (NATIONAL BYLAWS, CHAPTER ARTICLES, ETC.)

ARTICLE # - TITLE

SECTION # - TITLE

PRESENT LANGUAGE

Enter text of entire section or paragraph beginning with the paragraph
number) to which you are proposing changes, with any deleted text in bold
type and enclosed in [brackets].

 PROPOSED LANGUAGE

Enter text of entire section or paragraph (beginning with the paragraph
number) to which you are proposing changes, with any inserted text in bold
type and underlined.

PURPOSE: One brief sentence describing what the amendment will accomplish.

RATIONALE: Describe the reasons why the amendment should be adopted.

SUBMITTED BY: Name, Position, and Chapter
