All of my contact info is at the bottom of this message. If something is clearly inappropriate, I've probably dealt with/am dealing with it so you don't need to point it out. And a quick summary of the current issues: Scout sales mailings: Inappropriate. I've asked them to remove apo-l from the list. If they don't in the next day or so, I'll work out the configuration changes necessary to block their posts. Confirmed virus warnings about *NEW* threats: Appropriate. This falls into the catagory of service to the brothers and should always be well documented before you post. Some of these things are rather nasty and spread quickly. Losing your thesis or your chapter's ledgers is no fun. Questions about how viruses work or other technical questions: Not appropriate. There are plently of lists and web sites that provide information about viruses or most other technical subjects. In any case, there really is no inherent reason to believe that the people on APO-L are any more equipped to answer the question correctly than someone you decide to stop on the street. [And this may be a good time to remind you that the last sentence also applies to formal statements of APO policy. This is in unofficial and things posted on the list are not guarenteed to accurately reflect the policies of Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity. If you need a definative answer on something, contact your Sectional Chair, Regional Director, other National Board members, or National Office as appropriate to your question.] Y.I.S. Ellen c.c.
