Hello everyone,
I am the Pledge Educator at Zeta chapter at Stanford and am looking for
some new ideas for the pledge process.
First, I assume that some schools have already started with recruiting the
pledge class and wanted to take advantage of the experience of the schools
on semester system. Has anyone found a new, creative way to attract
pledges, besides the normal flyers, tables at activity fairs, announce at
house meetings, etc.?
Second, Does any chapter have a scavenger hunt for their pledges? What
types of things are included in it?
Third, I am looking for something different that will make the pledges
appreciate the history of our chapter, and the size of the national
fraternity, and that is of course, something they will enjoy. One idea
that I have is to ask almuni to write letters to the pledges, telling them
what the chapter was like when they pledged, and what they liked about
pledging, etc. Another idea is to match the pledges with another pledge
from another chapter, so they can share experiences. Does anyone have any
advice, or ideas on what they have seen done?
If you think that your chapter does something different during the pledge
process than most chapters, please share it with me.
