Okay, I might get seriously bashed for saying this, but I personally think that
the recent thread referenced here is important to official fraternity business.
Perhaps not directly in the manner in which it arose, since there's question
as to whether it was intentional or not, and even whether it came from an APO
Brother. But perhaps this can be placed in a context which *is* appropriate
for "official" discussion.

An example given earlier included service projects with organizations which are
politically affiliated. The question would be, are we by working with them
"endorsing" their political goals and agendae? And if so, what are the
ramifications in regard to the national organization? As Brother Schroeder
pointed out, we are "prohibited" from partisan activities. But where does that
line get drawn? I think this is an important issue to discuss, and since it
affects not only individual chapters, but in reality the entire fraternity, it
is an appropriate topic for discussion here.

But, we need to make sure that our subject lines reflect the topic(s) we
discuss, so that it's clear to someone who doesn't want to read legal debates
on tax-exempt status can use that lovely delete function.

As usual, that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.
