In case you haven't been paying attention to the news
lately, there was an earthquake in Turkey (near
Istanbul) this past week. The latest reports on CNN
are that 12,000 people have been killed, and 35,000
are still missing. I won't go into too much detail on
what's happening; if you're interested, go to:
http://www.cnn.com/
I was wondering if any other chapters out there were
planning on doing anything in regards to this (raising
money, collecting food, clothing, etc). Mostly, the
Red Cross needs financial donations. There are several
websites you can go to check information out:
http://www.redcross.org/
http://www.disasterrelief.org/
http://www.pluslotto.com/
The PLUS Lotto web site is an internet lottery that
donates the proceeds to the International Federation
of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
