This is for those of you in or near the St. Louis area for the summer.
This message is to announce the Section 49 Service Project, to be held at
Babler Park on Aug 13-14, 1999.
The idea is to meet at Babler Park in the evening of Friday the 13th, and
camp overnight. I may try to arrange group transportation from Wash. U.
to reduce the number of cars. We have the Scout/group camping spot.
Then, in the morning of the 14th, we will do service. We will be
helping fix up an outdoor amphitheater on the park grounds. Those who do
not wish to camp overnight are welcome to come just for the service.
The park ranger I spoke to said he may also be able to arrange free
swimming for the afternoon of the 14th. That's not a done-deal, but swim
gear should probably be included in the packing list.
If you can make it, please provide me with contact info I can use to
get ahold of you if anything changes. (And also to provide directions etc.)
This will also help me get a decent headcount.
Also, if you have a tent or other camping gear you could lend, that would
be great.
