Brothers,

I would have to agree that there are a lot of people out here that need to
calm down a bit. First of all, because complaining to this list won't get
anything done, it's just venting. Some of the comments have been very
constructive (if not expressed very calmly).

Let me give you the perspective of someone who really didn't use the old
web site, though. I don't mean to offend anyone who worked on the previous
site, but that site was really only accessible to those who used it
frequently. I didn't browse the site casually. When I went there, I was
always looking for some specific (and usually obscure) piece of
information. Maybe it's just me, but I could never get a feel for the
layout of the site. The major advantage of the new site that I see is that
it's look and feel are much more intuitive. With just looking through it
for a few minutes, I was able to find many specific things (by the way, the
Standard Chapter Articles of Association are amended to the By-Laws, which
might be something worth changing).

Now, I do agree that older content should be updated (and maybe the web
page shouldn't have been brought on-line until it had been). As for paying
to design the site, however, we may have a lot of talented people in APO,
but to ask them to design a complete web site from scratch is a lot of
work. I, too, would like to know how much this cost, but please keep in
mind that, sometimes, you have to spend a little bit of money to get the
final product you desire.

The bottom line is that, yes, the National Office might have handled this
better. But, so could many out on the list here. Getting upset over this
is only going to serve to isolate yourself and alienate others. Let's
please keep a little bit of perspective.
