To all of my brothers,

As many of you have noticed, www.apo.org changed in many ways on
Tuesday, July 6. Actually, I'm guessing that's when the change
happened, I didn't notice myself until someone pointed it out to me that
morning.

So I'd like to answer a few questions that have been posted on APO-L
recently that I think need to be answered and that I feel are
appropriate to be answered by myself.

A. No, Dave Emery is not involved with WOW! Marketing (the one in
Colorado Springs, CO not the one someone found in Oklahoma City). This
question was by far the most unique and therefore deserved to be first.

B. No, Fuzz (that'd be me) and the web team (that'd be us) were _not_
involved in the design or the development of this new site.

C. Yes, I was as surprised as you were when the site suddenly changed,
although not for the same reasons. I knew the site was coming, but I
wasn't expecting it until after other events had transpired (which
hadn't).

D. Yes, the information is out-of-date or just plain missing compared
to WebHQ. The new "Locations" area is a modified snapshot of the old
"Structure" area taken in February (before conference season). I was
supposed to become involved so that this information would not be
out-of-date (or "as" out-of-date as I've been kinda' slackin' most of
this year on updates, my apologies), but as B and C indicate, that
hadn't happened as of last Tuesday.

E. The 1999 Summer National Board of Director's Meeting was this past
weekend in Indianapolis, IN. I got to the Region VI Director, Mark
Dearing's apartment (thanx again to Mark and Tonya for letting me crash
at your place!) at 2:30am instead of 8pm as a result of weather. Which
is pretty good, a lot of people heading to the meeting got stuck
overnight in strange cities as a result.

F. For those who have attended web workshops hosted by myself and/or
other members of the web team in the past, see B. Hey, if you say that
last part out loud, it sounds pretty silly. :-)

G. No one asked this question, but I don't believe I receive emails
addressed to webmaster@apo.org anymore. At least I haven't gotten any
since the flip date, and that would be quite the dry spell! I don't
know who gets them right now, I haven't bothered to find out yet. So if
you want to write me, you'll need to use my personal address.

H. Yes, things will get better, I promise. No promises on details or
timelines though, I'm sorry to say. Please be patient.

That's about it for now. Keep your eyes on APO-L for more information
in the future. Oh, and I'd like to personally apologize for this flip
happening without a corresponding announcement on APO-L, but, well, see
C.

P.S. I apologize if I inadvertantly hurt anyone's feelings with the
content of this message.
