1999 Chapter Program Workshops Update
The scoop: There's still time to register for this summer's
CPWs, but if we don't get enough registrations, some CPWs
may be canceled. Read on, and sign up today!
======== ======== ======== ======== ======== ======== ========
Dear Brothers,
If you're still thinking about attending a Chapter Program Workshop,
but didn't get around to registering for whatever reason, just relax,
because there is still time to register. But don't relax too much -
do it now!
The cost for the weekend is $40 and all you need to do is contact the
National Office and let them know you are coming. The fee can be sent
to the National Office, or you can use your VISA or MasterCard and pay
over the phone. While prepayment is preferable, you can also pay at the
door. However, if you make a reservation and don't show, you will be
responsible for the $40 fee.
To register by phone, call Susan Harris at (816) 373-8667 or contact her
by e-mail at <apoadmin@aol.com>. You can also still use the registration
form that was sent to your chapter or download an electronic copy from
the National Office web page:
http://www.apo.org/struct/national/office/
Now, let's review some of the details for those who haven't heard
them before....
The 1999 Summer CPWs are scheduled for the following dates
and locations:
6/18-20 Winston-Salem, NC
Fort Worth, TX
6/25-27 Stillwater, OK
7/16-18 New Brunswick, NJ
Toledo, OH
Fairfax, VA
7/23-25 Orono, ME
Atlanta, GA
Cedar Falls, IA
7/30-8/1 Ithaca, NY
Charleston, IL
(You can attend any CPW which is convenient to where you'll be this
summer, whether or not it is in the same region as your chapter.)
And don't forget, the price is about as good as you can get -- $40,
no matter which CPW you attend. That price includes materials, two
nights lodging and five meals (three on Saturday, two on Sunday),
plus instruction by the finest volunteers gathered together this side
of a National Convention. And the small group settings can't be
beat for getting answers to your questions about chapter operations.
(Even those questions you didn't know you had!) What a deal!
Finally, A Few Words About Canceling CPWs....
As long as we have enough people registered to make it worthwhile
to bring in a staff and resources for a CPW weekend, we'll even take
registrations right up until the the time of the CPW itself. But if
we don't have enough Brothers signed up to participate by the time
we get within a few weeks of the CPW, we have to cancel it far enough
in advance to get the word out to all of those who did register and
for the volunteer staff.
Right now, three CPWs will be in danger of being canceled if they
do not see increases in their pre-registrations:
7/23-25 Orono, ME
Cedar Falls, IA
7/30-8/1 Ithaca, NY
If these CPWs are canceled, those registered may be able to attend
other CPWs elsewhere in the country, but we hope that won't be
necessary. If you're planning on attending any CPW -- especially
one of the those listed above -- please register today. The CPW
you save may be your own!!
Fraternally,
