INTERNS AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Play a role in this historic event!
ECOnference 2000 is a national student environmental
conference that will bring thousands of students from
across the country together this Oct. 15-17 at the
University of Pennsylvania.
Students will work to make Earth Day 2000 and Election
Day 2000 the springboard for a green millennium, take
on the worst anti-environmental corporations, and
shape the next generation of environmental activists.
We need to make the new millennium an opportunity to
do something huge, and to leverage our power as future
leaders to demand environmental justice.
The conference is sponsored by Campus Ecology, Campus
Green Vote, Earth Day Resources, Free the Planet!,
Green Corps, Sierra Student Coalition, STARC, the
student PIRGs, and Target Earth.
Planning a conference of this magnitude is a huge
undertaking, and can't happen without the involvement
of lots of students. ECOnference 2000 is currently
hiring interns and volunteers to help plan the
conference and spread the word. Interns will work
alongside paid staff to gain valuable experience and
produce results.
RESPONSIBILTIES: Interns and volunteers work on media
relations, outreach, securing speakers and food,
transporation arrangements, internet support, and
coordinating entertainment. Positions are primarily
based in DC and Philadelphia, though folks are needed
all over the country.
QUALIFICATIONS: A desire to impact critical
environmental issues and a commitment to working
towards that goal.
