Well, I thought someone would have beaten me to all of this, but...
This past weekend Sections 88 and 89 spent 2.5 days in Oneonta, NY for
their joint sectional conference.
Although I could not tell you all of the awards given out, I can tell you
a few...
Best Roll Call: SUNY Fredonia
Man Mile: SUNY Fredonia
Best Quilt Square: Alfred University
Leadership Award: SUNY Buffalo
Service Award: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Fellowship Award: ??
Membership Award: ??
Sectional Distinguished Service Key: Karen Axelsen
Now from the business meetings:
Both Ed Varel and Cindy Smith-Corbett were reelected to their Section
Chair positions. At the joint business meeting, we put a motion on the
floor to reunite the sectional conferences for both semesters (which were
split back in 1996 or so for the fall semester). This passed unanimously.
Next year's sectional conferences will be held:
October 22-24 at SUNY Oswego, Oswego, NY
April 14-16 at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY
Last but not least, we have a challenge in our Region.
If we get 100 new Life Memberships in Region II, Craig Muckle, Region II
Director will have his fingernails painted Blue and Gold at all of
Region II's sectional conferences next semester! If you are from a
chapter in Region II, please spread the word!!
