The Membership requirements of APO at the founding were the same as BSA's.
Of the three membership requirements that BSA deals with today("God,Girls,
and Gays"), only girls would have been an issue. In the 1920s, being an
admitted Gay was very dangerous and the number of students who considerred
themselves atheist was much smaller (and wouldn't have been allowed in
most of the social greeks either). APO's breadth of religion was unusual
for a Greek Letter Organization prior to WWII, but reflected BSA's
standards, not the college campus.
