From all indications given by the last National Convention, this fraternity
choses to honor the Gentlemen's Agreement, which provides for the continued
status of EXISTING all-male chapters. The agreement specifies that all-male
chapters may remain, so long as they stay active, do not admit women, etc...
The policy also states that no new (single-sex) chapters may be formed, and if
an all-male chapter goes inactive then it can only be revived as co-ed...
This is a two-sided agreement, with concessions to BOTH the all-male chapters
AND to the proponents of full integration. To alter in any way the existing
policy, even if to give more latitude to the formation of all-male (or all-
female), chapters would fundamentally violate this agreement...
This does not appear to be the will of the majority, as seen at the 1998
National Convention...
I also don't think that Gamma Sigma Sigma is in any way relevant to this
argument, BTW...
