Don't forget to take the opportunity this Thursday to write a letter
to a child you know, and tell them how Incredible they are!

If any chapters have been able to put together projects supporting
Absolutely Incredible Kid Day, please drop me a note describing what
you did.

Thanks to each of you for the service you do for and with young people -

                                                dave

>Absolutely Incredible Kid Day is an annual, national program of the
>Campfire Boys and Girls. March 18, 1999 will be the third time this
>event has been held. The basic idea of the project is a huge letter-
>writing campaign to the kids everywhere - ideally from adults to kids
>that they know, but any kid who needs to know that someone cares is
>a candidate!
>
>Lots of information about the project is available on the Campfire
>web page at http://www.campfire.org
>
>The national email address for the project is kidday@campfire.org
>
>Specific service opportunities for chapters interested in this project
>can:
> Write letters to kids as individuals or as a chapter. These
> can be any kids - your friends, relatives, neighbors kids,
> or kids that you have met through one of your service projects.
> If you don't know any kids, contact your local Campfire council,
> Salvation Army, or perhaps a lcaol social services agency for
> suggestions. Who knows, you could make a new friend, and more
> importantly, be a new friend!
>
> Promote Absolutely Incredible Kid Day on campus or in community
> by putting up flyers on campus or in the campus newspaper.
> (coordinate with local Campfire council)
>
> Staff mall exhibit on Absolutely Incredible Kid Day - some
> councils will be placing tables at local malls on/around
> Kid Day, and they need help for people to staff the tables
> (explaining the purpose of Kid Day, etc.). Contact your local
> Campfire council about opportunities in this area.
>
>Both Campfire Boys and Girls and the APO Scouting and Youth Service
>Committee are interested in any success stories with Absolutely Incredible
>Kid Day. Alpha Phi Omega will be listed on their web page and literature
>as a supporter and participant in the event.
>
>If you have questions, please check first on the Campfire web page
>(http://www.campfire.org), then check with your local Campfire
>council (note that not all areas in the country have a local council).
>If you still can't find an answer, please contact me (email
>to doleary@juniper.net is best).
>
>Thanks for your help and support!
