The Chronicle of Higher Education invites members of this list to read a
story and join an on-line discussion about the move by Dartmouth College to
reshape its college life in general, and in particular about its move to
require fraternities and sororities to become coeducational. College
officials argue that a reshaping of Greek life will have a positive impact
on the experience of students. The Chronicle would particularly like to
have the perspectives of members of this list on whether Dartmouth's moves
are the kinds of actions colleges should consider to improve the quality of
