Yippee! If this is so, not only am I happy, as I proposed a version of this
for the second straight convention, but it changes my whole approach to the
issue for the moment.
I can see both sides to this issue, as can many of you through this rather
intense discussion over the past week. My idea of a SUMMER EVENT to
SUPPLEMENT the regularly-scheduled National Convention was my idea of:
1. Offering a nation-wide type APO service and fellowship experience for
those who CAN'T go to Nationals in December.
2. Offering another opportunity for those who want to do Nationwide
service-fellowship more often than just at the biennial convention.
3. Offering a plain ol' summer experience for all.
4. Putting summer conference theories to the test, without jeopardizing the
normal Nationals schedule or operations.
Since it passed, I guess I'll be giving a lot of input since I've been having
this idea developing in my mind for 3 years now.
So let's shift discussion to: since we are now going to investigate the
possibility of this summer activity separate from Nationals, what are your
thoughts?
1. Do you think it will work?
2. What should be the scheduling?
3. How should it be run?
4. How to select time/place?
That, and many other questions I have addressed in past legislative proposals
(1996) regarding this, and I will post my "business plan" here early next
week. Until then, feel free to discuss. :)
