Hi, My name is Justin Ruby, and I am a new subscriber from the Zeta Theta
chapter at Drexel University. I'd like to find out if anyone has
suggestions for the utilization of advisors. Here is our chapter's current
situation:

1. We have seven advisors and the majority of our chapter would be unable
to name all of them if asked to do so.

2. Two of our advisors are on campus, very easily accessible, very anxious
to be used, but very underutilized by the chapter. One is the chaplain of
the Newman Center on campus and the other is the university's community
service coordinator.

3. One advisor is a recent alumni who is often able to attend our meetings
and often has good input to our chapter discussions. He is probably the
best utilized of all of our advisors because he has experienced being an
undergrad and often can identify with our needs.

4. One advisor is very helpful with university PR and this is the only
thing we use him for. He would probably be interseted in being more
involved. He is on campus, easily accessible, but again underutilized by
the chapter.

5. One of our advisors was originally put on to help out with university
PR as well, but he has since vowed to have nothing to do with the chapter
until we can get our membership up to 25 members.

6. One of our advisors is an alumni of another chapter who used to work
for our Office of Student Information and Records. He no longer works
there and the chapter is having diffuculty keeping touch with him.

7. Finally our Scouting advisor who was also a former employee of the
university, but has since switched to a community college in the area. He
has said that he is still very interested in being a part of our chapter,
but again the chapter is having diffuculty figuring out how to use him and
as a result we have had diffuculty keeping touch with him.

As you can see we have a serious problem. Many of our advisors would have
no problem helping out, but we are not quite sure how to use them. I would
really appreciate any and all suggestions on how we may be able to utilize
them or even examples of ways that your chapter uses their advisors and
organizes your advisor system. Thank you very much in advance.
