Hello, everyone!
My name is Oscar, and I am the mascot of the Eta Pi chapter, University of
Detroit Mercy. I don't know much about time limits, or legislation from
alumni, or rats on parade (rats scare me). I don't really understand
debates over a few syllables in a toast song, or about deciding where a
convention should be in two (or fourteen, in dog) years.
What I have learned from all of my friends in Detroit and around the world
is that through Leadership, Friendship, and Service, people make a
difference. I've seen people give up so much to give to others. And they
always seem to have so much fun doing it! I had a blast sitting with my
buds Jason and Rebekah on the convention floor. Wow, so many genuinely good
people in one place at one time! And they were all making a difference.
I've seen chapters rise and fall, and I've learned one thing: Don't lose
sight of what makes Alpha Phi Omega the greatest fraternity in the world:
Leadership, Friendship, and Service.
Sincerely,
Oscar
