Richard,
Your idea sounds like a great one, unfortunately, I don't think that is
practical.
To have the webcam work, you need to be connected to the Internet. Having
worked at a company that did live webcasts, your biggest problem will be
getting connectivity in the hotel.
From my experience, the hotel will charge you an exorbinate fee for the
phone line and then by the minute for use of the phone line. This can be
really expensive.
