Most of the daily work, yes and no. You've apparently never served on
a legislative committee then? Many committees don't let out until
late at night, or even the early morning hours.

First of all, we are planning a National Convention of a service
fraternity; we are not a group of tourists. Yes, many brothers will
undoubtedly want to get out and see the sights a little. But the
convention doesn't end at 5pm. As a brother who has been at two
national conventions in the past, I seem to recall at least two major
banquets, the rat parade, numerous turtle initation ceremonies ;-),
and many other major event that occur in the evening hours.

True, both Philly2000 and DC2000 have that disadvantage in that there
are many major attractions and a high amount of tourism in the area
year-round. I think DC2000 offers the best well-rounded mix as far as
a good assortment of museums and parks to spend time in. Old Town
Alexandria has some excellent shops and restaurants, most of which
stay open until late at night. Not to mention Washington, DC, is
located right on the I95 corrider and is serviced by two major
International Airports and one National Airport; so transportation
will not be a problem.
See you in DC in 2000!
