Major tourist attractions in a city are always good, but there can be
a few drawbacks. Namely, popular attractions such as Disney attract
LOTS of people, eat up hotel space, as well as detract from the
overall experience of an APhiO convention because more brothers will
want to take their picture with Mickey rather than spend time getting
to know brothers from around the nation. My best experiences with
conventions are those in which I stay in the hotel and just socialize
with brothers, instead of touring...

Yes - there are drawbacks to attractions that would take Brothers away from
the conference...... during the day.... DisneyQuest in Philadelphia would be
accessible to Brothers in the evening hours - after most of the daily work of
a National Convention would be completed. In comparison to the attractions in
the DC area that all close at 5pm. If you want to go sightseeing in DC you
would HAVE to skip out on the conference or extend your stay. In
Philadelphia, attractions like DisneyQuest and others are open later hours, so
that convention goers can sightsee AFTER completing their daily conference
duties. Oh, and I won't mention that the major attractions in DC eat up hotel
space and attract hordes of people as well.
