Brothers,
I just talked to both the Hyatt and the Regal. The Regal is not
mandating how many people get how many beds. Both hotels have the same
New Year's eve policy and say that they have had it for years. Both say
that they are unwilling to extend the policy to guest of the convention
staying at the other hotel. Both said that we were not told of this
policy when we made the reservations because they "assumed that we were
self-contained groups." I was able to change my reservation to the Regal
so that my group can have two double beds and still get the $52/night
through New Years.
Truthfully, right now I am so fustrated and irritated that I'd
like to avoid all contact with either hotel. Has this happened at past
national conferences? Was ANY attempt made by people from either hotel
made to infor us of the these policies? I made my original reservations
in March and people had started planning this long before that-I am
bothered that no one said ANYTHING. Yes, I realize that the official
conferance ends on the 30th, but even a six year old could figure out that
many people were making much longer reservations.
Any thoughts?
