Dear Brothers,
First I want to thank Ellen for clarifying the point for me.

The reason that the article was posted to APO-L was to highlight a
point. The point being that Philadelphia IS a desirable Convention
location for a National Convention that will far exceed our own National
Convention standards. The Republican National Convention is expected to
bring more than 35,000 people to the downtown Philadelphia district, that
is over 10 times what Alpha Phi Omega are expecting to bring for our 75th
Anniversary National Convention. And for all the Democrats out there...we
were among the top 2 cities on the Democratic National Convention list.
Unfortunately, the political parties no longer allow their Conventions in
the same city (As was the case in 1948, when Philadelphia hosted all 3
conventions: Democrat, Republican, and Independent)

Hope this clarifies the issue. We hope to see you all in the City of
Brotherly Love in the year 2000!
