Brothers,
I am working on a Section 79 (Western and Central North Carolina) history and
am searching for resources. The oldest chapter in what is now Section 79 was
chartered in 1947, so I am looking at a period of about fifty years. I am
especially interested in understanding the historical period in the 50s and
60s prior to the Constitutional Convention in 1967. If there are any chapter
or section histories that might provide insight into this period, that would
be very helpful. I am also looking to fill in gaps in the names of Section
Chairs and Section Conference sites among other things. Anyone have any old
leadership directories from late 60s and 70s? I have virtually nothing from
the 50s, other than there were only twelve sections at that time, and North
Carolina was in the Southeastern Section. Any lists of Section leaders during
this period? Can anyone recommend any other resources that might be helpful?
If you can help, it would be great to hear from you. Thanks.
In LFS,
Jeff Thomas
