The first thing I would do is get in touch with the national office.
They may be able to give you quite a bit. Worst case, you'll at least
get a complete membership roster, and that's a good starting point.
From there you can talk to your university's alumni association and
find out current addresses for some of the more recent members. Those
people should be able to give you some information, or at least
encouragement.
One word of caution: DO NOT ask for money. IMO that's never a good
idea unless you've been in contact with your alumni already. Most
will not react too well if the first piece of mail they get from APO
in 29 years is a request for money. If you do contact your alumni,
advise them of your rechartering efforts and ask for their memories.
Some will send you money without being asked, and in any case the
history you get will have far more long-term value than cash. But
that's what you were talking about to begin with.
