Here's some real APO business for you. The time is getting close but it
is not too late to register for the Section 54 Fall Conference at
Saginaw Valley State University in beautiful Michigan. It is from Oct. 23-25.
Cost is $25. It is too late to get a T-shirt if you register now, but don't
let that stop you.

> Greetings Fellow Brothers,
>
> On behalf of the Alpha Delta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega,
> it is my honor and pleasure to invite you and your chapter to the Section
> 54 Fall Conference at the campus of Saginaw Valley State University to be
> held October 23-25, 1998. At this year's fall conference, Alpha Delta
> Upsilon is going to provide an opportunity to foster great fellowship
> among all brothers in attendance by focusing on group unity.
> To start off the weekend, we will be having a boy scout style bonfire for
> all to gather around, keep warm, and do a little brotherly bonding. Feel
> free to break out the Mardi Gras beads early to meet new brothers. (We
> liked the bonfire idea because Michigan Tech could probably use a little
> thawing out after already having their first four months of winter. Just
> kidding, sorta.) Then it will be back to the Fairfield Inn for the
> evening, which is conveniently located just a few miles from SVSU.
> In the morning, we will have late registration at the Fairfield
> Inn, which will be just before departure for the cemetery. What did they
> say, "cemetery"? Why, yes, we did say "cemetery". This year's conference
> will be the weekend before Halloween, so we thought we would get everyone
> in the mood. The Saginaw Volunteer Action Center has arranged a project
> that everyone can attend. We will be helping to improve the City of
> Saginaw by straightening headstones. Everyone who visits a cemetery that
> their loved ones are buried in would like it to look nice, so let's unite
> and give the citizens of Saginaw a helping a hand by improving the
> appearance of their cemetery. Come with an open mind, some warm clothes,
> and if you like, a few ghost stories to share.
> After the service project everyone may head to a restaurant of
> choice, but remember to be back to campus in time for seminars. At our
> conference, we are fortunate to have all of our seminars presented by
> section and region staff. Our guest speaker, Mr. David Norczyk, will talk
> to us about life planning. I have personally heard him speak, and he has
> good things to teach. After our guest speaker, it will be back to
> business. Yes, the business meeting.
> Lastly, we will be hosting a semi-formal dinner dance in SVSU's
> conference facilities in Curtiss Hall. Remember that the theme is "Mardi
> Gras at the Valley", so bring some beads to pass. And since Maggie is
> presenting a seminar on risk management, there are other ways to collect
> beads than taking your shirt off. (Just thought we would take care of
> that for you, Maggie.)
