Wellaccording to my information. The first chapter chartered in 1977 was
Omega Iota at Marian College in Indiana. All chapters from Omega Alpha to
Omega Theta were chartered in 1976. The convnetion that granted full
membership was in Decmeber of 1976.

There are several rasons why I could be wrong on this. :)
1) My information on chartering dates could be wrong.
2) The National Office may have let it go through given that they thought
that things were going to happen as they did in Atlanta.
3) The charter application icnluded women as *affiliate members* which is
the status that existed between the 1974 and 1976 conventions.
