I forwarded the message about problems getting hotel rooms at the Hyatt to
Pat Burke. He checked into it and here is the official word.

>As of 2 p.m. Central Time today the Hyatt Regency will accept reservations at
>our convention rate of $52 December 24 thru January 2.
>
>Sorry for the confusion. Once we had achieved the room block in our contract
>the Hyatt was a little slow on the up take that we intended to use all rooms
>available. Those calling in now should not have a problem, with the exception
>of December 31.

>The Hyatt rate for that night is now $99. Our contract was for 133 rooms (at
>$52) on December 31, and they went fast. We have exceeded that number by 67
>rooms already. Hotels can easily sell rooms on Dec 31 at a much higher rate.
>The $99 rate is favorable when one considers that a regular guest will be
>paying in access of $150 for December 31 at the Hyatt.

>The Regal Hotel our second hotel across the street has, within our room block,
>100 rooms for December 31 at our convention rate of $52. This hotel is
>connected by skywalk. The distance between the two hotels is such a short
>distance it is like one hotel. (Definitely, not anything like Dallas)....
