Kim,
Nicely said about "brotherhood". However, as one of the brothers who first
proposed going coed in the late 60s and getting much more heat than even babs
seems to, from the chapters who blindly were following their "outdated
traditions of being all male". We took alot of heat to push legislation
through that enabled YOU to join; a compromise was made to allow that. That
compromise was based on the idea that even the Deltas would change with time.
Unfortunately they have not. You have come to easily accept the fact that you
are an equal "brother" in our fraternity.

I think that that is the point. We are equal and anyone of any sex, race,
etc should be able to join our fraternity and not eliminated because they are
different. Our by-laws state that any new chapter must accept anyone of the
student body at that institution. I believe that it is time to change that
wording to all chapters. I think that needs to be considered by all brothers,
but especially the women as the upcoming convention nears. When we got the
original passage of going coed, some thought that that would "kill" APO. We
are obviously much stronger now. Those few chapters that are still resisting
because their "outdated traditions" will die will come out stronger (albeit
maybe not for a few years) with this change.
