I sponsored an account for Matt Dahl (now dahl@athena), an MIT alum
hardware/software hacker. The account is just for net (email and news)
access. I gave him a 1 meg quota on user.dahl, but that can be cut
back if he's trimmed his old mail yet.
I also created user.dkk, also with a 1 meg quota, and mounted both
volumes in /afs/sipb/user/. I did not add either to the backup list,
which shouldn't be a problem, at least for now, as niether of us
expects backup.
------
The AFS weekly restart warning broadcast service is now on Ronald-Ann.
It used to be on Alecto (LNF,SYSLOGGER) which I lost when I stopped
working at Athena. The system was allegedly to have been re-installed
a week or so ago, so its services (restart-warning, lnf, local accounts,
etc) were eliminated.
As a result of the loss of LNF, I requested the cname changed to Ronald-Ann.
Miraculously, most of the LNF functionality is still in place on Alecto,
and not in place yet on Ronald-Ann. (Perhaps Alecto wasn't re-installed
after all.) I plan to move LNF to Ronald-Ann when I get back unless
there are any objections...
