Hi guys,
I've been building and testing a suite of japanese related PD software
in /afs/sipb/project/nemacs. Some of the stuff there include japanese
versions of {,la}tex, emacs, a kanji-capable version of xterm. All
the vax binaries currently in place work fine.
The nemacs project was originally begun by rfrench and lavin some two
years ago, but most of it was put on hold because available software
at that time was underdeveloped. Since then, a good deal of stuff has
become useable.
In particular, because of the large number of people taking Japanese
at MIT these days, word has already spread (after I got some help from
somebody at uwisc in building jserver, and he posted a message on
usenet that I was building stuff at MIT...) that
/afs/sipb/project/nemacs exists. Recently, I've received several
messages from people on campus who want to use the programs in
~nemacs.
----------------------------------------
REQUEST:
First: I need more disk space in the nemacs volume. Currently, it has
a quota of 10 meg, and it is stuffed. But only vax binaries are
installed, a tiny bit of the elisp library, and I've had to
temporarily store the jtex *.pk fonts in my homedir.
I estimate that a complete installation will require at least 20 meg.
Second: I would like to reame /afs/sipb/project/nemacs to
/afs/sipb/project/nihongo, as "nemacs" is not an appropriate
descriptor for the project.
----------------------------------------
Do we have enough disk space for this to be done?
-Ike.
