Any access to ronald-ann e remotely or locally (including umount
and fsck -n) results in this stream of errors:

I shutdown the cell, commented out the /vicepe line from
/etc/fstab, and restarted the cell.
I HAVE NOT NOTIFIED HOTLINE or anyone else of the problem since
this maybe something simple (a bad cable????) that I don't know
about. I'll let someone else deal with finishing up...
