The 3.3a conversion is scheduled for tonight at 1:00am.
I've made some minor changes of plans. Following is the procedure I
plan to use:
* I've already copied
/mit/opssrc/afs.33a/pmax_ul4/dest/root.server/usr/afs/bin to
/usr/afs/bin.new, on each server, and /usr/afs/conversion
contains vldb_convert and the new vfsck.
(Note that /mit/opssrc/afs.new became /mit/opssrc/afs.33a; I
verified this with Matt.)
* At 1:00am, I will:
Shut down both servers
On each server:
Copy /usr/afs/db to /usr/afs/db.old
Run /usr/afs/conversion/vldb_convert
Move /usr/afs/bin to /usr/afs/bin.32
Move /usr/afs/bin.new to /usr/afs/bin
Restart the cell
Copy /etc/fsck to /etc/fsck.32
Copy /usr/afs/conversion/vfsck to /etc/fsck
I'll do this from the machine room, in case local access to
one of the AFS servers becomes required.
I will see about getting a backup done today, since the last one was
done Monday. If people want to be around for the conversion, that's
fine.
