The jumpers are on the second pc board in from the back of the
Exabyte inside the card cage. If you want to open the cage, you
need a Torx 8 wrench. I just used a nut pick to jiggle the dip
switches without opening it!
SW OFF ON
1 run memory test on bypass memory test
power reset
2 parity check disabled parity check enabled
3 Odd or even byte Even byte disconnect only
disconnect
4 Report busy status No busy enable
5 Fixed block on power up Variable block on power up
6 Normal data operations No disconnect during data xfer
7 reserved for future use
8 P6 cartridge type PI Cartridge, International
Default as shipped is all OFF except for SW4 which is ON
Recommended switch positions for DS3100 is:
SW1 SW2 SW3 SW4 SW5 SW6 SW7 SW8
X OFF ON ON ON OFF OFF OFF
X == on or off; I run with it off, so it goes thru its test of power up.
but if you boot while it's memory testing, it won't be recognized.
Probably the most important switch for the DS3100 is SW3 which must be ON.
